Life behind the wire fence is not the same. What is a fence? A structure serving as an enclosure, a barrier, or a boundary, usually made of posts or stakes joined together by boards, wire, or rails. This barrier is made to keep inmates “in” and contraband “out”. However cell phones, drugs, sex, cigarettes alone with other items find their way inside. Another use of the fence/barrier is for discipline, routine activities, authority and trouble, to name a few. They are designed to make you feel inferior and less than a human being. The cell phone, sex, drugs and cigarettes are considered contraband and should not be behind the fence with you. If these items and much more are in the system; they defeat the purpose of you learning a lesson for being confined.
There is another fence that is designed to protect and liberate and not confine. This fence is Jesus Christ. Jesus will be a fence all around you and protect you. “But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and keep you from evil.”
II Thessalonians 3:3
It is ironic that protection comes from submitting to the Will of God. If one submits to God, then there would be no need for barriers. We must thank God that we are not under the Law but Grace and Mercy abides.
